Shop Space

I’ve always admired the shop spaces I’ve had the chance to work in—especially the small, quirky ones, and especially the ones I’ve helped set up myself. There’s a deep connection with a space that gives you access to tools and the sapce to create. Building and organizing a shop is often as meaningful as the projects that come out of it, which is why I think these spaces deserve to be recognized alongside my other work.


This space was in my partners parents detached garage in Burnaby BC. The deal was that if I cleaned up the  garage and build a storage shelf then I could use it. I built this shop after I had been working in Architectural practice for a couple years and was feeling detached from my craft and making side. This shop became pivotal in my decision to pursue my masters and set a course for my life that always intertwined with craft and making
