As part of a prefab housing initiative in Washagamis Bay First Nation, I developed a series of topographical, geological, and satellite aerial maps using QGIS to support site selection for new housing. The mapping work helped visualize constraints and opportunities across the land, including terrain, soil conditions, and access. These technical insights were used alongside lived experience and historical knowledge shared by community members and Elders, ensuring site decisions were informed by both available datasets and local understanding.
