This beautiful piece of burled maple was hidden in a bin of $10 guitar bodies and under 1-3mm of blue epoxy. After getting it down to the natural grain I reshaped the boxy edges into a more comfortable strat body and added a Stevie Ray Vaughan profiled guitar neck from Warmoth. The burl is an interesting grain to work with as some parts are hard as a rock and other parts disintegrate with the slightest touch (probably explains why they epoxied it!). I love this guitar. It has been my primary axe since.
